In 1954, when
I was 9 years old our family took a trip to Alaska. My dad took a
lot of slides and 8mm film on that trip. The last time that anyone
in my family saw that film was in 1956. We no longer have a
projector or screen so when I heard Sam with The Reel House speak at
a Lions Club meeting I was very excited. I gave him all the film and
ask if I could have some music on the film. He told me that not only
would he add music but would also work with me to put my own
narration on the final DVD. I would not even have dreamed that this
could be done. The quality of his conversion is unbelievable. Thank
you for the DVDs that you have produced for my family.
I have a VHS
tape of our wedding that was taken in 1982. The sound quality was
not very good and the colors were starting to fade. I gave the tape
to The Reel House to convert and ask them to see what they could do.
What I got back in the form of a DVD was a pleasant surprise. The
colors were back, the dark sections were brightened were you could
see the people, and the sound was enhanced were not only could you
here everyone talking but you could understand them. Great job The
Reel House
A little
over a year ago I sent some of my 8mm film off to Chicago to be put
onto DVDs. The place that I chose was a well-known national camera
chain and does great work with film. It was very expensive and what
I got back was extremely disappointing. I could have gotten the same
results if I had projected the film onto the wall and video taped
it. When I heard a speaker from The Reel House at a networking event
I pushed them off. Sam, the owner asked me if I had any film that he
could process. I told him my story and that I was not interested. He
asks me to give him that exact same film that I had sent off and if
I was not pleased with the results, it wouldn’t cost me a dime. I
took him up on his offer and I am really glad that I did. The
quality of the DVD is far superior to what I had received from that
national chain and the cost was just over half of what I paid
before. I have sense given The Reel House lots more film to put onto
DVDs. Thank you Sam
My dads 90th
birthday was coming up and we wanted to do something special for his
party. We gave The Reel House some pictures and some old 8mm film
and ask if they could mix some film and some pictures into a history
presentation. They said that they could and if we had some musical
choices that could be added also. They worked with us on the project
showing us how each step looked. The video ran like a slide show
except for a very unique touch. We had a picture of our grate great
grandmother and The Reel House found some 8mm film of her taken at the same
time. First the still picture would show up on the screen and then
the film sequence would run. Not only did my dad get to see video of
his great grandmother but also his great grandchildren were able to
see their great great great great grandmother. What a piece of
history for our family. The Reel House is now putting all of our film
onto DVDs.
My mother passed away when I was very young. My dad had a lot of 8mm film of them together and of us growing up. We still have a movie projector but over the years grew tired of dragging it out to view the film. I found The Reel House on the Internet and started to research them. I talked my dad into giving The Reel House all our film to put onto a DVD. We got back three DVDs containing just over 4 hours of our family history. The quality was far superior then what I ever expected. Not only did they remove all the bad spots, like washed out scenes and sunspots but they brought back the color in some scenes and put titles on the video that we had on the film boxes. When other family members watch the DVDs they will know who is in the scene and were it was taken. I am so glad that I found The Reel House.
